Lipsett Takes First BRC Event Title of 2016 The following recap comes courtesy of Crossfire Bull Riding Promotions. ERIKSDALE, Manitoba -- The 19th Boneyard General Repair Boyz and Bullz presented by The Healthy Chef is in the books, and was once again a success. When the curtain came down on the short round, Tim Lipsett walked out of the arena with a new championship buckle and the first regular season event title of the 2016 Bull Riders Canada season.

The evening kicked off with The Noventis Credit Union Bull Draft. All 27 bull riders along with the five junior bull riders pick their matchup for the long round. The list was set with five of the top 10 bull riders from the 2015 BRC National Standings and nine of the top 20.

It looked like the leader board would be a long one however the long round saw only five qualified rides as the four legged athletes were at the top of their game in the cool October air. In front of a standing room only crowd, Tim Lipsett found himself in the driver’s seat. Lipsett secured himself a match up with 04 Crossfire’s Pipeslinger in the Interlake Co-op Championship Short Round, the bull he said he wanted before the event started.

As the final eight played out, the Viking Motors Protection Team was kept busy. The buyer of the bull pen in the calcutta was starting to get nervous but a few close calls made by the evening's officials meant kept the shutout. With no scores posted in the finals, Tim Lipsett had the event title won before he got on his short round bull. A big effort by the Regina, Saskatchewan talent wasn’t enough as he came up short of the horn. Lipsett left town with the new championship buckle and over $2500 in cash.

William Pooyak, another young Saskatchewan BRC finalist came in second at the event. He too came down in the short round but his matchup against 3M Young Gun from Lazy S and Bonkowski Bucking Bulls. The up and coming bovine superstar earned the Bull of the Event title sponsored by Crossfire Bullriding Promotions Inc in the out.

Rounding out the top four was a Caleb Bedfor in third, and in fourth was hometown man, 16 year-old Austin Kinkead. Both have helped set themselves up for a chance to qualify for the 2016 BRC National Finals. The junior bull riding was won by Karson Turel. Next up for Crossfire Bullriding Promotions is Brandon Manitoba October 30th for the BRC Wheat City Wild.
