1, 2, 3 for BC in Vernon
Vernon, British Columbia - Bull Riders from their home Province dominated the top portion of the results at the Louis Estates Bull A Rama. Many British Columbia riders regard the Louis family and their Committee to be first-class and hospitable, delivering a memorable show for for all of the hundreds of fans that attend each year. Taking place at a beautiful facility located on the shores of the Lake Okanagan, this event is certainly a site to behold if you are able to get in!

This year the Committee wanted 19 riders in a two-head format; allowing the fans to watch each rider participate on two bulls. This format is proving to be a crowd favorite in BC as it was also used New Year’s Eve in Barriere, BC earlier this year.
There were a total of 11 rides out of 28 which equates to 39.3-percent; one of the highest riding percentages of any event anywhere in Canada to date this year. Zachary King, Creston, BC won the first round with a solid 82.5 points on CCR 258 Rock And Archie Show. Winning the second round was the Provincial veteran, Marlon Williams, Mount Currie, BC scoring an impressive 84 points on CCR 202 Nervous Wreck.

There was one man to ride two two bulls and that man was Matt O’Flynn, Quesnel, BC.
Placing sixth in the first round and third in the second round, O’Flynn left the Louis Estates Bull A Rama with a beautiful championship buckle, as well as some validation for all of his training over the winter. “...I would like to thank the Louis’s for another great event and I am looking forward to coming back next year already...” exclaimed O’Flynn. “...I wanted to say to all the younger riders coming up that proper preparation prevents a poor performance and to never think that anything worth having comes easy. Make sure that you take the time to enjoy the preparation because sometimes it’s what gets you through when you are not performing to your potential.... love life!” Well said Matt O’Flynn; coming from a guy who trains hard, prepares hard, enters efficiently and makes the miles, those are words for younger riders to take to heart, great job!
Looking at the Bull Riders Canada National Standings there are some new faces for this season while some of the other riders are continuing to climb the standings...all looking to be in the top 25 for the Season V Finals taking place in Lloydminster this coming December 1st and 2nd.
Once again, Bull Riders Canada is pleased to bring back the Grudge Match for the top five riders at the end of the season. These top five guys will get on the top five bulls as selected by the riders...ride the bull and earn a cool $1000.00 cash; buck off the bull and the stock contractor takes home the $1000.00.

It is great to see that the Canadian model for developing bull riders is working. We are starting to see local (geographical regions) areas such as British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Quebec gain traction with new committees having events and new riders being able to compete on a weekly basis.
Bull Riders Canada is proud to be able to work with committees for stand-alone bull riding events as well as rodeo associations (and rodeos) in distant areas where riders can earn points and money at a single event by having multiple cards.
This past Easter weekend saw the postponement of the Lamont event. Due to the recent weather in the area, the Lamont committee has moved the event to May 6th. All riders who entered the original event have been contacted and entries will open again on April 24th for this $8000.00 added event.
